La premi\u00e8re liste rouge de l\u2019UICN de mai 2014 la liste comme en danger critique d\u2019extinction \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle du territoire. Sans aucun crochet \u00e0 venin (ou aglyphe) et d\u2019un temp\u00e9rament placide, <\/span><b>elle ne pr\u00e9sente pas le moindre danger pour l\u2019Homme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. En 2026, dans le cadre du projet surveillance de l\u2019herp\u00e9tofaune \u00e0 Mayotte (financ\u00e9 par l\u2019OFB et la DEALM), le p\u00f4le de connaissances et conservation de l\u2019herp\u00e9tofaune a pu mettre en place une \u00e9tude de plusieurs mois sur la couleuvre. Ces objectifs sont :<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">La d\u00e9termination de facteur favorisant la d\u00e9tectabilit\u00e9 de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce en pr\u00e9vision de la mise en place de suivi futur.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">L\u2019am\u00e9lioration des connaissances sur l\u2019\u00e9cologie de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce, notamment sur son utilisation de l\u2019habitat.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">La formation des agents, la communication et la sensibilisation des locaux.
